The West Indian American Carnival Association (WIACA) hosted its 58th Annual VIP Breakfast at the Carlos Lezema Netball Court, bringing together community leaders, cultural ambassadors, elected officials, and honored guests for a vibrant celebration of Caribbean heritage. Set against the backdrop of steelpan music, traditional cuisine, and colorful displays of national pride, the event served as a spirited kickoff to the festivities leading up to New York City’s iconic West Indian Day Parade. The breakfast not only honored the legacy of Carlos Lezema, a pioneer of Caribbean culture in the diaspora, but also reinforced WIACA’s mission to promote unity, culture, and civic engagement through the arts and shared heritage.
